William (Michael) Clark 1943-2010

Dad died at 11:15 this morning from brain cancer. He was 67. We learned about his tumor in January, 2009, and we’ve been battling hard ever since. He had two brain surgeries, radiation, and various forms of chemotherapy including clinical trials at National Institute of Health.

He loved traveling, sailing, photography, friends and family. He never accepted anything but perfection and it was apparent in all of his endeavors, including bird photography, gourmet cooking, fine carpentry, and in his professional life as a business executive.

He is the reason I sail, and the reason I took up photography. He was the best father that anyone could have ever asked for and we already severely miss him.
This photo is of Dad on the left, with his two grandkids and two daughters-in-law off of Martha’s Vineyard on his boat, “Expeditious” Aug 2009.

Love you Dad, Rest in Peace.

You were going to hear from me anyhow (Larry already has), and I can think of no better forum. Your business is just one form of testament to Mike. When I think of Mike and my enduring fondness and respect for him, and I think about your family, all of them, the thing that has been clear all along is that Mike was so much more than a dad to you boys, or a partner to Sharon and Shirley in bringing you up, and really transcended any label you might ascribe to him as related to the extended family other than "Patriarch."

... and I wonder what he said to Steinbrenner on their way into the Pearly Gates, having no doubt that Mike one-upped even "The Boss."

Love and comfort to you all,

Heidi

Allen: Deep sympathies and condolences on the passing of your dad! I understand all to well with the recent difficult loss of my own mom to lung cancer - your sad, frustrating, hard fought struggle to save your fathers life, the time shared with him, the 100+ doctors appointments, and holding his hand to the end when he departed his life!

Rest assured now his immortality and peace will last in your -and his family and friends- many fond memories and experiences you had growing up in the good years you all shared together!

Please let me know right away when and where I can attend a service to help celebrate his life and share some comforting thoughts with you in this time of sadness and joy!

Allen,

I was so sorry to hear the very sad news of your fathers passing. He was always a great source of support and help to me and all the staff during my time at Cedar Point. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Steve.
